Boracay Bulabog Beach

The Philippines main frontier, the island of Boracay, prides of two main beaches. The White Beach and the Bulabog Beach are on opposite sides in the central portion of the white-sand island. The two beaches are different, each having specific specialties offered to vacationers. For one, White Beach boasts of being the events and party capital of Boracay, while Bulabog Beach is known as the extreme water sports capital not just of Boracay and of the entire Philippines, but also of the whole of Asia.

Bulabog Beach consists of a kilometer-long white-sand beach coast. Geographically, the beach is sitting on the opposite side of White Beach, which is located at the west side of the island. Being on the eastside, Bulabog Beach facilitates different recreational activities. For one, if White Beach is known for its sunsets, in Bulabog Beach, watching sunrise is a pleasant daily surprise.

Surely, Bulabog Beach is for the morning and daytime vacationers. Aside from the good sunrise view, the beach facilitates mostly extreme and lively water sports. The beach is popular among kiteboarders and windsurfers. Logically, it has earned the title as Asias Windsurfing and Kiteboarding Capital. Such water sports are often classified as extreme activities because they are more enjoyable when the waters are rough and the winds are fiercest.

From January to middle of May, windsurfers and kiteboarders flock to Bulabog Beach. That is because during the period, the waves in the beach get rowdy, perfect for surfing. In those months, northeast monsoon brings in trade winds from the north east of the Pacific. Because Bulabog is facing east, it gets more of the rowdy winds. From May to September, the wind shifts from the east to the west because the southwest monsoons sets in, this time, bringing winds from the west, where the opposite White Beach is facing. During these months, the waters in Bulabog gets quieter and more tamed, though rains are frequent.

As mentioned, Bulabog Beach is in general comparatively quieter and more peaceful than White Beach. That is because not as many party events, bars, restaurants and other tourism establishments can be found in this side of the island. There are basically less vacationers and tourists going to Bulabog all year long. However, some vacationers prefer the beach that way. Thus, the beach area has its own set of loyal patrons and regular guests.

Bulabog Beach is home to some annual sports and recreational events. The popular windsurfing tournament, Boracay International Funboard Cup, started in the beach in 1988 and has since been one of the main events that bring in crowd. Linked to the event is another yearly happening, the Southeast Asia Funboard Cup.

There are several resort hotels operating in Bulabog Beach. Most of these accommodations are especially and specifically designed and constructed to provide vacation shelters to surfers and vacationers. Bulabog Beach is often deserted, but tourists are almost always pleased to explore this other side of Boracay. Real estate businesses are also promising in this side of the island because there are still several vacant lots available to investors.
